Urology Observership and Hands-On Training Program

Program Overview:
This 2-week Urology Training Program at Medipol Mega University Hospital offers an intensive observership and clinical exposure opportunity for medical students, urology specialists, and physicians seeking to enhance their practical and theoretical understanding of urologic procedures and patient management.

Participants will attend patient examinations, observe surgeries, and engage with senior physicians across a broad range of urological cases and techniques.

The program is structured around active clinical participation and case discussions, providing insight into daily practices at one of Turkey’s leading healthcare institutions.

Surgical and Procedural Training:

  • Greenlight Laser Surgery
  • Endoscopic Closed Surgery (TUR)
  • Varicocele Surgery
  • Urinary Incontinence Surgeries (TOT, TVT, BURCH)
  • Hypospadias Surgery
  • Orchiopexy (Undescended Testis Surgery)
  • Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery (RIRS)
  • Laparoscopic Surgery (URS)
  • Cyst Resections and Cystostomy
  • Nephrectomy and Nephrostomy
  • Prostatectomy (Radical and Simple)

Clinical Diagnosis and Treatment:

  • Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)
  • Erectile Dysfunction
  • Male Infertility

Functional Tests and Examinations:

  • Uroflowmetry and Urodynamic Studies
  • Kidney, Bladder, and Prostate Ultrasonography
  • Scrotal and Penile Doppler Ultrasonography

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Observe and understand a wide range of urologic surgical and diagnostic procedures.
  • Gain familiarity with outpatient and inpatient management of urological conditions.
  • Enhance clinical reasoning skills through exposure to diverse case discussions and treatment strategies.

  • Duration: 2 Weeks
  • Training Language: English / Turkish
  • Training Schedule: Weekdays only (Monday–Friday)
  • Training Format: Theoretical sessions combined with Observership training
  • Certification: A Certificate of Completion will be issued by Medipol Mega University Hospital
