Pediatric Neurology Observership and Training Program

Location: Medipol Mega University Hospital, Istanbul, Turkey

Program Overview:
This structured program offers intensive exposure to neurological disorders in children, combining clinical observership and theoretical instruction. Participants will engage with real clinical cases covering a wide spectrum of pediatric neurological conditions, from epilepsy and neuromuscular disorders to neurodevelopmental syndromes and acute neurological emergencies.
The program emphasizes both diagnostic evaluation and therapeutic management approaches, conducted under the supervision of Medipol’s Pediatric Neurology team.

Training Content

Focus Areas (one or more can be selected) in Clinical Neurology and Neurodiagnostics:

  • Epileptic Syndromes and Seizure Management in Childhood
  • Neurodevelopmental Disorders (Autism Spectrum, Intellectual Disability, ADHD)
  • Neuromuscular Diseases and Myopathies
  • Pediatric Headache and Migraine Disorders
  • Neurometabolic and Genetic Neurological Diseases
  • Pediatric Stroke and Demyelinating Disorders
  • Neurological Manifestations of Systemic Diseases
  • Neuroimaging and EEG Interpretation in Children

Program Activities

  • Observership in pediatric neurology outpatient clinics and inpatient wards
  • Participation in multidisciplinary cases
  • Bedside review and ward rounds under faculty supervision
  • Observation of EEG studies and neuroimaging evaluations
  • Faculty-led lectures and/or interactive discussions

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize and evaluate a wide range of pediatric neurological disorders
  • Understand diagnostic approaches including EEG and neuroimaging techniques
  • Gain practical exposure to management strategies for epilepsy, neurodevelopmental, and neuromuscular conditions
  • Observe multidisciplinary care models for complex neurological cases

Program Structure

  • Duration: 2 Weeks
  • Training Language: English / Turkish
  • Training Schedule: Weekdays only (Monday–Friday)
  • Training Format: Theoretical sessions combined with Observership training
  • Certification: A Certificate of Completion will be issued by Medipol Mega University Hospital
